Extension Management in Mozilla FireFox 0.9 is absolutely awesome

If you haven’t tried FireFox 0.9, you ain’t seen easy and pretty yet, folks. I’m SO impressed with what they’ve done for the extensions — the browser interface, and the web-interface for downloading them.

Impressive. Most impressive.

Rotoscoping

Rotoscoping this movie is even worse than I imagined. Granted, I spent 2 hours perfecting my lightsaber Script-Fu tonight, but still from 6:30 PM until 11:00 PM I only did 80 frames. That’s like… a little over 2 seconds. Scene 25 alone has 750 frames.

*expletive*

Frightening

I’ve never seen a man eat so many chicken wings.

At the urging of most of my male peers in life, I rented and watched the South Park movie tonight with my Dad, no less. Beyond all expectations, it was … something. We were amused, but we’re not sure by what or why.

I expect it’s just a something.

Took a break tonight from editing movie. The next task is roto-scoping, and that’s going to take so long it just ain’t funny. I’ve been working all night since Saturday and just needed a break… and watching something as insane as this movie might have even been good for me.

Tomorrow is Friday. Let there be rejoicing.

Pizza Delivery Jedi sample…

Check this out — lightsabers have not yet been rotoscoped for this scene.

Scene is #28, where Tanja ambushes the Jedi. Ambient music and some sound effects (my body hitting the ground) still needed.

*looks proud*

I just finished animating hologram-Yoda talking over my cell phone in Scene 17 of Pizza Delivery Jedi. It looks pretty decent! I’ll post a picture here pretty soon, but a still isn’t nearly as cool as the animated distortion and line-tracing effects I’ve got going there. ;)

More desk space

I gave Mr. Flynn my 20″ Sun-branded Sony Trinitron yesterday, freeing up a whole bunch of space on my desk. Space which is happily being used for a PowerMac with which I’m editing a Star Wars Fan Film that the CSC and some extras filmed a year ago. Keep watching for more details. :)

Putting up logs…

First 5 days or so in the U.K. are now below for your reading pleasure.

I’m busy importing all the remaining video for our movie. Will start editing probably during the week. I doubt I’ll be rotoscoping all our lightsaber blades within the next two weeks, but we’ll see.

I have returned!

I flew in from Paris yesterday. Arrived around 6 PM. Charles de Gaule Airport in Paris must be the worst international airport in the world (definitely more on this later). I took several sheafs of notes using paper and pencil (since that’s what I had) and will be typing them up and adding them to the blog over the next week. Earlier if you’re all good. :)

Just for a teaser note, Scotland is the most beautiful place I visited, followed by Normandy. And the French didn’t seem to hate me/us, more likely just treat us with a sort of mild neglect.

NOT going to work today…
