Yeah, Hesiod…there was a whole “wisdom literature” section devoted to him in my Mythology book last term. And I use the term “wisdom” very loosely…
I just love the statement “She is after your granary.” It’s awesome!
Imagine this: I’m sitting in a cafe somewhere with a bunch of friends when some woman makes a pass at a nearby man. I can then go to the man and whisper, “Be wary, good sir. She is after your granary.”
