Published in the New York Times, November 23, 2004At a security checkpoint recently at the Fort Lauderdale airport, Patti LuPone, the singer and actress, recalled, she was instructed to remove articles of clothing. “I took off my belt; I took off my clogs; I took off my leather jacket,” she said. “But when the screener said, ‘Now take off your shirt,’ I hesitated. I said, ‘But I’ll be exposed.’ ” When she persisted in her complaints, she said, she was barred from her flight.

Been patted down myself and NOT happy about it. Thanks to the type of undergarment I wear, and my mother for that matter, I tend to set off the metal detector and be forced to endure the stuff in the article. It isn’t pleasant.
It’s ludicrous. The TSA is a prima facie violation of Ammendment IV (”unreasonable searches and seizures” / ” no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation”) but I guess not enough people are complaining to their US Congressman, US Senator, and the TSA….
BTW, that would be Congressman Jeff Miller for us NW Florida types and Bill Nelson (and whoever’s replacing Bob Graham) for our Senators…

If this was done for anything but “national security” they would get jailed for sexual harassment, abuse. I am not going to travel by air while that MAN is president if I can help it, until laws are changed. I have kneed guys in the balls so hard they fell to the floor gasping for a hell of a lot less than the shit people get away with everyday at an airport.
