Family Bonding

Chris and Jay in the Swamp at the 2005 UF Homecoming GameMy family came to town Friday and left today. The principle reason for the trip was to attend the UF Homecoming football game against Mississippi State yesterday (which was actually highly entertaining. Many things happened in that game which are decidedly rare in the sport: UF managed to score two safeties and a touchdown on a goal-line punt block). Most entertaining was that last night Chris and Jay both stayed here and at Chris’ insistence for several hours we played the “classic” drinking game of Presidents and Assholes. There was much liquor and drunkenness. This wasn’t exactly how I had intended to spend my weekend with my brothers but it sufficed and added immeasurably to my total college experience.
In the process of all this revelry I’ve found myself a little bit of a cold. This isn’t my year for health, apparently. Don’t worry, I won’t let it get in the way, I have far too much stuff to do. My first exams are this week, as is the Programming Team competition in Melbourne, FL.
I’ve also just been pointed to (by Rick) an interesting Firefox extension called CustomizeGoogle. It adds predictive search text and removes a number of Google restrictions when using their site.
If I’m awake, I’ll likely go see Serenity tonight. We’ll see, though. It was planned, but fatigue and illness have done an excellent job of ridding me of endurance.
