Hoggetowne 2006

The CSC in its natural state, sans StephenThe group got together for Hoggetowne this year, sort of like last year except Katie joined us this time. Basically it worked out that everyone came into town Thursday of last week. Then our long weekend proceeded something like this:

  • We hung out and had fun on Friday, including the purchase of Munchin
  • Hoggetowne on Saturday
  • Hanging out, and Liz and Katharine leaving on Sunday
  • Katie leaving on Monday

Ker-twang!The highlight of the weekend was, of course, Hoggetowne and some photos are online here.

The group, watching the Human ChessboardPattycake?Hoggetowne was, as always, a blend of entertainments ranging from shooting people with arrows to watching shows to throwing knives to, well, shopping. Apparently some people even found entertainment tossing coins down the bodices of the washerwomen. Theresa surprised everyone by not purchasing any new weapons (there weren’t any good deals, sadly). Katie surprised no one by purchasing a functional quill (and she owes me a letter written with it, too!). I refrained from purchasing anything this year because I still can’t afford a kilt.

We all had a good time crying that ‘Blood makes the grass grow!’ while watching the yearly Human Chessboard matches. As is only appropriate, we all cheered on the side of evil. Besides, the evil side doesn’t have the sun in their eyes. ;) We missed the contact jugglers, though E. and April have now taken a few lessons in the art.

After Hoggetowne was a slow recuperation at El Toro. Mmm, Mexican food…

The rest of the weekend had a lot of the group being indecisive, drinking, eating and playing Apples to Apples. Great fun had by all. :) Maybe we’ll even get to do it again sometime in the future.

Glee!

Well, there are fun alternatives to the expensive traditional kilts… http://www.utilikilt.com/

Yes, but I want a kilt of my clan first. :)

Weird. When I run my mouse over the pics the text shifts.
