Pug’s Place

Never gonna give you up…

Boarding up

I’m thinking of boarding up the blog and replacing pugsplace.net’s front page with a static list of my projects, maybe a link back to the old blog (probably write-protected against spammers) and something like a feed from Twitter or Identi.ca.

I just don’t find myself with anything to post about these days, since life is pretty much work and KT. If I transition away from the blog idea, I can make my front page include pictures from Flickr, I suppose…

Anyway…. what are your thoughts?

Don’t board up.. just find something to write about…

Write about Bad Horse. Bad Horse, bad horse, bad horse, he rides across the nation, the thoroughbred of sin, he got your application that you just sent in. It needs evaluation, so let the games begin. A heinous crime, a show of force, a murder would be nice of course….!!!

I agree with the above comment. You are leading a very interesting life, but you are just not writing about it.
Your impressions of Flagstaff, the early morning flight, the new apartment, are all great. I love the way you write!

Where are you, my son. I feel like I have not talked to you in weeks!

I wouldn’t shut it down, you just need to find things in your life worthy of writing about. Your camping experience you related to me in that letter you sent to Basic would have been a great thing to blog about–perhaps you’re just not comfortable putting that sort of experience out in the public eye? You do have an interesting life, you’re just not writing about it. I had an excuse, I was in Basic Training, but that won’t do much longer now that they’ve started giving us some Internet access here at the HHC at Benning. :P You just have to open up a bit on some things is all IMO. I’m sure your sense of propriety will censor all the incriminating stuff, and you don’t even have Big Brother directly watching your ‘Net connection. (Penny Arcade is censored here at Benning. The screen says it’s some kind of explicit or something.) ;)

I think you lead a plenty interesting life, you just don’t feel inclined to discuss it. For example, that camping trip you wrote about to me in Basic training would have been blog worthy IMO–but you didn’t write about it. Maybe you think that’s a private thing? I don’t know. But that’s the sort of thing you could blog about; I’m sure your sense of propriety will censor out the private stuff, and it’s not like your connection is actively monitored by The Man like mine now is. ;) (Penny Arcade is blocked here as some kind of “explicit”) So just sit down and write some stuff and see what happens. :)

It somehow seems backwards, but when your day to day life feels full and happy we seen to have so little to write about. The lack of fuel for our writing–idiots at work, maddening traffic or being apart from our loved ones, is really a good thing. Isn’t it? I’m not saying stop writing, I think writing is such a personal thing only you know what is right; if you stop and feel its void, then start again.
